Peptides

Peptides are the most misunderstood corner of bodybuilding. The same word covers a pharmaceutical growth hormone, a research vial sold online, and a compound with twenty years of published human data behind it. Most of what gets written about them either sells something or repeats forum claims without checking.

This section is the opposite of that. Every guide here works from the primary literature, says plainly what the studies do and do not show, and marks the difference between human trial data and animal or mechanistic research. Where the evidence is thin, the guide says so.

Start with the basics: how peptides are dosed and reconstituted, how long each one stays active, how to store them, and how to tell whether what arrived is what you ordered. From there the guides move through recovery, growth hormone secretagogues, metabolic peptides, side effects and the monitoring that should go with them.

Each guide carries a table, a review date and the sources behind every claim. Nothing here is medical advice: dosing, bloodwork and any health condition belong with a qualified clinician.

If you are new to peptides, start with the half-life chart and the reconstitution guide.

TB-500: What the Research Shows and What Is Not Known

TB-500 is a synthetic seven amino acid peptide, Ac-LKKTETQ. It copies one region of thymosin beta-4. Sellers use both names interchangeably, although they describe different molecules. Because of that, the confusion runs through most of what gets written about TB-500. So this page separates three things. What TB 500 is, Read more…

BPC-157 vs TB-500: Which One for Which Injury

BPC-157 and TB-500 get discussed as alternatives to each other and they are not: BPC-157 is a fifteen amino acid fragment of a gastric protein studied mainly for its effects on blood vessels and the gut lining, and TB-500 is a fragment of thymosin beta-4, a protein whose main job Read more…

BPC-157: What the Research Shows and How It Is Used

BPC-157 is a synthetic fifteen amino acid peptide, not approved as a medicine anywhere, with an unusually large animal literature and a very small human one. A 2025 systematic review of the orthopaedic literature identified 36 studies published between 1993 and 2024, and almost all of them are animal work. Read more…

How Long Do Reconstituted Peptides Last in the Fridge?

The published windows run from 14 days to 56 days, and which one applies to your vial depends on two things rather than on the compound: whether the water you mixed it with contained a preservative, and what the manufacturer validated. One growth hormone label allows 14 days after mixing Read more…

How to Reconstitute a Peptide: Step by Step With a Dosing Chart

To reconstitute a peptide you add a measured volume of sterile or bacteriostatic water to the lyophilised powder, and the amount of water you add sets the concentration, not the dose. A 5 mg vial mixed with 2 mL of water gives 2.5 mg per mL. Mixed with 1 mL Read more…

Peptide Half-Life Chart: How Long Each Peptide Stays Active

Peptide half-lives run from about 11 minutes (tesamorelin) to about a week (semaglutide). This chart puts every commonly discussed peptide in one place, and tells you what the number is based on: a human study, an animal study, or nothing at all. Most half-life pages answer for one compound at Read more…

Peptides, HGH and HCG: What Bodybuilders Should Know Before They Buy

Ask ten bodybuilders about peptides and you will get ten different answers, because the word is used for everything from a cheap research vial to pharmaceutical growth hormone to the HCG people keep for after a cycle. Those products have almost nothing in common. They have different regulatory status, different Read more…
